Summary: Delicious food, great value, breathtaking view for fall foliage and fireworks

Lake George Boardwalk RestaurantLocated in the heart of the village at the northern end of the Lake George boardwalk, you’ll find the Boardwalk Restaurant and Marina.

Our family went to the Boardwalk on a busy Columbus Day weekend when the foliage was in peak color, and the restaurant provided one of the best spots on Lake George for spectacular leaf peeping.

Crab CakesSpectacular views make dining at The Boardwalk a memorable experience! Two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows provide stunning 180 degree views from the southern end of the lake. Diners can view the village, relax over dinner and watch the Lake George steamboats as they head out of port to the northern end of the lake.

The Boardwalk offers two options for dining. The upstairs deck offers lighter fair in a casual open-air setting, while downstairs you’ll find an elegant rustic Adirondack dining area. Both locations are ideal for everyone - from couples to families, or parties of any kind.

MusselsOffering a wide variety of American cuisine from seafood, pastas, and steaks to lighter fare favorites like Reuben’s, quesadillas and pulled pork, you’re sure to find something to suit every appetite.

The children’s menu for $6.95 includes a beverage, and the salad bar was a hit with our children who enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries.

ScallopsFor an appetizer, I started with the crab cakes which were delicious; I especially enjoyed the spicy remoulade sauce, while my husband had the mussels simmered in Ale with leeks, diced tomatoes, garlic and herbs. Being a seafood lover, I ordered the scallops gratinee and finished with the chocolate mousse cake (which I was not allowed to eat by myself as the children all wanted to dig in).

Chocolate Mousse CakeThe Boardwalk restaurant is probably the best spot in Lake George for taking in the fireworks and the enjoying the beauty of the lake and the scenic sight of the steamboats passing by.  They also cater to groups for rehearsal dinners, holiday parties and birthdays.  Parking is plentiful and free while dining at the restaurant - a big plus for diners traveling by car from outside the village.

For a dining experience that offers both a great dining experience and unforgettable views of beautiful Lake George – and caters to the kids - The Boardwalk Restaurant is definitely at the top of our list.
